Arthur is keeping vigil over his dying mother in the house where he grew up. One evening, a stranger knocks at the door; she is pregnant and looking for a place to stay for her future family. Moved by pity, Arthur lets her in for a short visit. Everything goes smoothly until the stranger finds herself alone in the room where the mother is spending her final hours.
Ferris Wheels is a poetic and slightly foolish dramedy about family, memory, and swimming.

Thomas Dufour
Thomas Dufour is a screenwriter, director and playwright from Lac-Saint-Jean, now living in Montreal. In 2024, he won the grand prize in the Cours écrire ton court competition for his screenplay Garage double. The film is to be released in 2025. His play Maison seule won the Prix Gratien-Gélinas 2023 and was performed at Monument-National, directed by Philippe Boutin.
He has written the libretto for an augmented reality opera for the Opéra de Montréal, to be presented in 2025, and is currently working on the script for his first TV series, Payés. Thomas is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s Playwriting program (2022).
